Users are disconnected unexpectedly

    Make sure the users were not disconnected intentionally by an administrator.
    Make sure idle users are not set to be disconnected.
    Make sure the computer running the file server software is still working and is connected properly to the network.
    Check the TCP/IP settings on the user's computer and on the computer that is running the file server and verify that TCP/IP is active.
    Make sure that the volume to which users were connected is mounted.
    Check the network connection of each user's computer.
    It may be a hardware problem. If the problem is isolated to users on one part of the network, run diagnostic software on your network devices (routers, switches, and Ethernet hubs).
